The Portofino replaced the California and improved on it in every measurable way — more power, a stiffer structure, sharper steering and a hardtop that folds away in fourteen seconds. It remains the Ferrari that is genuinely usable, the one you can drive all day along the coast rather than photograph and park.
With the roof down on the N-340 between Marbella and Estepona, or arriving into Puerto Banús in the evening, it does what a Ferrari is supposed to do without demanding anything from the driver. Closed, it is quiet enough for the motorway run from Málaga Airport, which few open supercars manage.
